A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it,
bearing within him the image of a cathedral

Pulverized paint from the walls of a Berlin bunker.
On the walls of a deep subterranean Berlin bunker big monochromatic squares were painted in 1943 as a panic light system. When lights went out during the many air raids the squares would momentarily illuminate the space. Later the squares disappeared under many layers of graffiti and paint. I rediscovered the squares removed them from the walls and made the collected material into new functioning pigment.
